Seven Blytheville residents, including five children, were seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash.
The accident happened just after noon on Interstate 55 near the two-mile marker in Pemiscot County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 29-year-old Jennifer l. Mallory was northbound when her 1998 Ford Explorer ran off the road and overturned.
Mallory and 26-year-old Alberta D. Blackman were the only ones wearing seatbelts, according to the crash report. They were both airlifted to The MED in Memphis with serious injuries,
Five children, all under the age of 9, were all airlifted to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. Investigators reported none of the children were in safety devices.
