The organization will be serving up a variety of beans, cornbread and desserts from 5 until 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 701 W. Main St.

In addition to a delicious dinner, the Humane Society’s newly adopted mascot will be there handing out balloons and taking pictures with the kids.

Tickets are $10 for all-you-care-to-eat and can be purchased in advance at Doggone Pretty Grooming.

Proceeds will help fund the Humane Society’s spay and neuter program.

Blytheville Pet of the Week: Fancy

Blytheville Pet of the Week: Fancy

This pretty kitty really lives up to her name!

Fancy is a Snowshoe.  They’re a rare cat breed.  They have all the markings of a typical Siamese, but they have white feet.

The good people at the Blytheville Humane Society says instead of a loud, hoarse voice like a Siamese, Fancy “makes sweet chirping sounds.”

She’s also spayed and is house-trained.

Remember Pixie?

Back on June 26, 2012 we reported the folks at the Blytheville Humane Society were at their wit’s end over the loss of Pixie.

An abused dog they had rescued and looked after for more than six months was finally on her way to foster care when she got away from her handler.

Now, after more than 240 days of searching, Suzie Brooks of the humane society is happy to report Pixie is home “safe and sound.”

Ready to add a furry friend to your family?  You’re in luck!  Wanda is ready to find her fur-ever family.

The fine people at the Blytheville Humane Society say this terrier mix is friendly and playful.

She’s also up-to-date on her shots and house trained.

Pet of the Week: Josie

Pet of the Week: Josie

She may be 13 years old, but Josie is all baby.

This beautiful Himalayan kitty came to the Blytheville Humane Society after her owner was forced to surrender her.

Josie is playful and loving.  She also loves to be held like a baby.

She's up-to-date on her shots, house-trained and declawed.  Josie would prefer a home without a dog.

If you would like to give Josie a fur-ever home, call the humane society at (870) 838-5512.
